A school official has a reasonable suspicion that a student has in
his possession an illegal drug such as marijuana.
- The official may order the student to empty his pockets and examine
anything in the pockets that is capable of holding a small quantity of
illegal drugs.
- The reasonable scope of this search includes aprobe of the student’s personal effects, including his wallet, in which illegal drugs may be hidden.
