over a 10 week period in both the 5th & 7th grades.

basis. They provide security, counseling, and

Program Description: Over the past four years
the PD and local elementary school have formed a
partnership and each
agency provides support to the other. We
speak with
the teachers prior to
school and provide such materials as the safe school
CD where the teachers
can learn to interact with various situations which
have a tendency to come
up in the school setting. We also train with other
agencies in the county
for rapid deployment to the schools in the event of a
hostile event. Regular visitations
are made to the school and contact in the
community is carried
into the school setting and visa - versa.
