Program Name: Police School Liaison
Contact: Captain Daniel Danek
Program Description: The South Milwaukee
Police Department has 2 full time Police School Liaison
Officers (PSLO), one in
the high school and one in the middle school.
The
Police Department
currently has 3 D.A.R.E. Officers, two of which are the
PSLO's, teaching a 10 -
12 week D.A.R.E. curriculum to all the public and
parochial 5th graders in
the City of South Milwaukee. The PSLO's
conduct
investigations regarding
physical or sexual abuse of children or adults in
South Milwaukee. The PSLO's are a resource for not only the
students in
South Milwaukee, but
also to their parents or guardians. The
PSLO's give
drug and violence
presentations to both students and parents in and out of
school. The PSLO's are representatives of the South
Milwaukee Police
Department on advisory
boards for the school district involving drugs &
alcohol and school
safety.
